Vodafone uses three main apps for home broadband. The Vodafone Broadband app controls the router and home Wi-Fi, Secure Net manages online protection and family rules, and My Vodafone handles bills and the customer account.
Most day-to-day network tasks begin in the Broadband app. The sections below show the correct app for each task, the features available with different routers and the quickest fixes when an app cannot connect.

Vodafone Broadband app
The Vodafone Broadband app provides the clearest route to common router and Wi-Fi settings. It works with compatible Vodafone equipment and gives ordinary users access to useful controls without entering the router’s browser-based administration pages.
The current app includes equipment setup, a connection dashboard, device management, guest Wi-Fi, Network Assistance, TOBi chat, Wi-Fi sharing by QR code, bill history and compatibility mode for older devices. Features can differ according to the router, package and app version.
Router and equipment setup
The guided setup connects compatible Vodafone equipment and confirms whether the app can communicate with the hub. Keep the phone on the home Wi-Fi during this process.
Connection dashboard
The dashboard shows the current connection state and provides Network Assistance for supported setups. Follow its checks before restarting or resetting the router.
Connected devices
The device list helps identify phones, computers, televisions and smart-home equipment using the network. Management options shown for each device depend on the hub and app version.
Guest Wi-Fi and sharing
Create a separate guest network instead of revealing the main password. The app can also present Wi-Fi details as a QR code for quick connection.
Network name and password
Changing either setting briefly disconnects wireless equipment. Every phone, television, camera and smart device must then reconnect using the new details.
Compatibility mode
This option can help older or simpler devices join the Wi-Fi when normal setup fails. Use it for connection setup rather than leaving troubleshooting changes active without a reason.
First-time connection
Install
Download the Vodafone Broadband app through Vodafone or the phone’s official app store.
Connect
Join the Vodafone Wi-Fi and turn off mobile data temporarily if the phone keeps switching networks.
Allow access
Approve local-network or nearby-device permission so the app can discover the hub.
Link the hub
Follow the displayed steps and wait for the dashboard to confirm the connection.
The Broadband app is developed for Vodafone’s own hubs. Customers using approved third-party equipment should expect fewer or no router controls. Vodafone also requires its router with Pro Broadband and services using Digital Voice. The Power Hub vs Ultra Hub 7 guide explains the router differences and own-router restrictions.
Secure Net Home and family controls
Vodafone separates router management from family security. Secure Net Home protects compatible devices while they use the Vodafone home connection, while Who’s Home uses router connection events to report when participating household members arrive or leave.
Secure Net Home
Secure Net Home applies protection at network level for up to 128 connected devices. That number describes the security service’s coverage; it does not promise that 128 devices can use demanding services simultaneously.
- Malicious website, phishing and malware protection
- Custom content filters for each child
- Internet pause, bedtime and Focus Time
- Profiles that group a child’s connected devices
- Management through Secure Net or My Vodafone
Who’s Home
Who’s Home sends an alert when an opted-in phone connects to or disconnects from the home Wi-Fi. It is a Wi-Fi presence feature, not continuous GPS location tracking.
- Profiles are created in the Broadband app.
- Each person receives an SMS invitation.
- Reminder messages are sent every three months.
- Participants can opt out at any time.
- The account holder sees changes to consent.
| Service | Standard Broadband with Power Hub | Pro Broadband |
|---|---|---|
| Secure Net Home | Available with an introductory trial, followed by the optional monthly charge shown by Vodafone | Included at no additional charge |
| Who’s Home | Included for compatible Standard Broadband customers using the Power Hub | Included with Pro 2 and Pro 3 |
| Main management tool | Secure Net or My Vodafone for security; Broadband app for Who’s Home | Secure Net or My Vodafone for security; Broadband app for Who’s Home |
Vodafone extended Secure Net Home and Who’s Home to compatible Standard Broadband customers in May 2026. Check the Vodafone account before subscribing because availability depends on the package and supplied router.
Limits and privacy
Secure Net Home protects devices while they use the Vodafone home connection. A phone that switches to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network is outside those home-network rules unless it has separate device-level protection.
Who’s Home reports Wi-Fi connection events. A phone with Wi-Fi disabled, weak coverage or battery-saving behaviour can produce a delayed or missing alert, so it should not be treated as an emergency location service.
My Vodafone and account support
My Vodafone remains the main account app even though the Broadband app can display some bill history. Use My Vodafone when the task concerns payments, personal details, the agreement or support rather than the home network.
Account and payments
- View monthly bills and previous payments
- Make a payment or update payment methods
- Check account and plan information
- Review eligible services and account settings
- Use the browser-based My Vodafone account when preferred
Messaging and support
Just Ask Once provides messaging within My Vodafone for eligible queries. Vodafone says one person handles the query from start to finish and supplies updates until it is resolved.
Use the Broadband app’s Network Assistance first for a router or Wi-Fi problem. Use My Vodafone when the issue concerns the account, bill or contract.
Moving home requires an account change rather than a router-setting change. Start through My Vodafone and follow the process explained in the Vodafone moving-home guide.
Setup, compatibility and common problems
Begin with the least disruptive fix. A factory reset removes customised settings and should come after connection, permission and app checks rather than before them.
The app cannot find the Vodafone hub
- Confirm that the phone is connected to the Vodafone home Wi-Fi.
- Temporarily switch off mobile data and any active VPN.
- Allow local-network or nearby-device access in the phone’s settings.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart the hub only if the earlier checks fail, then wait for it to reconnect fully.
The correct broadband account is missing
Sign out and confirm that the login belongs to the account holding the broadband service. Recently activated or transferred accounts can take time to appear. Check My Vodafone in a browser and contact Vodafone if the broadband service remains absent.
A connected device does not appear
Wake the device and reconnect it to the home Wi-Fi, then refresh the app. Phones can use private or changing network addresses, while some smart devices appear under the manufacturer’s name rather than their familiar product name.
A device pause or family rule does not work
Check that the correct device is assigned to the profile and that it is using the Vodafone Wi-Fi. The rule cannot stop a phone using mobile data, and a device connected through Ethernet or another network may need separate control.
An older smart device will not connect
Open compatibility mode in the Broadband app if it is available for the router. Keep the device close to the hub during setup and follow its instructions for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Return temporary compatibility settings to normal once setup is complete.
The app reports a healthy line but streaming buffers
This usually points to the wireless connection between the device and router rather than the broadband line. Test beside the hub, then improve router placement, reconnect the booster or use Ethernet for fixed equipment. Do not assume that buying a faster package will repair a Wi-Fi dead zone.
A Super WiFi Booster is missing from the app
Confirm that the booster belongs to the broadband account and is compatible with the supplied hub. Move it closer during setup, restart it once and repeat the in-app pairing steps. Vodafone boosters are not general-purpose extenders for third-party routers.
The app opens but repeatedly stops or signs out
Install the latest version, restart the phone and check that sufficient storage remains. Reinstall the app only after noting any account details needed to sign back in. Use Vodafone’s website or support service if a wider app outage prevents access.
Vodafone broadband apps assessment
Useful features
- Clear access to common Wi-Fi settings
- Guest network and QR-code sharing
- Guided connection checks and TOBi
- Detailed family controls through Secure Net
- Consent-based household arrival alerts
Points to consider
- Related controls are divided between several apps.
- Features vary by hub, package and app version.
- Some setup tasks require connection to the home Wi-Fi.
- Third-party routers lose Vodafone hub controls.
- Home-network rules cannot control mobile data.
Verdict
The Vodafone Broadband app covers the network tasks most households regularly need and avoids sending users into technical router pages. Guest Wi-Fi, QR sharing, device management and guided checks are practical additions rather than decorative extras.
The weakness is fragmentation. Account tasks remain in My Vodafone, while detailed family controls sit in Secure Net. Once each app’s role is understood, the arrangement is manageable. Secure Net adds more value for families than for households that already use device-level security and parental controls.
Vodafone broadband app FAQs
Is the Vodafone Broadband app free?
Yes. Vodafone broadband customers can download the app without a separate app charge. Optional services managed through it, such as Secure Net Home on a Standard Power Hub package, can have their own subscription charge.
Which app changes the Vodafone Wi-Fi password?
Use the Vodafone Broadband app. Changing the network name or password disconnects existing wireless devices until they are updated with the new details.
Can the Broadband app work away from home?
Some account and support information may remain available, but router discovery and several Wi-Fi controls require the phone to be connected to the Vodafone home network.
Does the app work with the Power Hub and Ultra Hub 7?
Yes, the app supports current Vodafone hub experiences, but the available controls differ. Pro features associated with the Ultra Hub 7 do not automatically appear for a Standard Power Hub account.
Can it manage a third-party router?
No. The Vodafone-specific router controls are intended for compatible Vodafone hubs. A third-party router uses its manufacturer’s app or browser interface.
Is Secure Net Home included with Vodafone broadband?
It is included with eligible Pro Broadband. Vodafone currently offers Standard Broadband customers using the Power Hub an introductory trial, followed by an optional monthly subscription. Check the account for the current offer before activation.
Does Secure Net Home protect phones using mobile data?
No. Secure Net Home applies through the Vodafone home broadband connection. Secure Net Mobile is a separate service for eligible Vodafone mobile customers.
Is Who’s Home a GPS tracker?
No. It uses the participating phone’s connection to the home Wi-Fi to indicate arrival or departure. It does not provide a live map or continuous location outside the home.
Can more than one household member use Who’s Home?
The account holder can create profiles and invite household members. Each person receives an SMS invitation and can opt out. Vodafone also sends consent reminders every three months.
Is My Vodafone the same as the Broadband app?
No. My Vodafone concentrates on the customer account, bills, payments and support. The Broadband app concentrates on the hub, Wi-Fi and connected equipment, although it can also display some billing history.
Compare Vodafone broadband options
The supplied router and app features depend on the package. Standard Broadband includes the Power Hub, while Pro 3 adds the Ultra Hub 7, a Wi-Fi 7 Booster, mobile backup and additional support features.
