Vodafone GigaCube is a WiFi router that provides high speed internet access by connecting devices to 4G / 5G mobile networks of Vodafone. Vodafone offers two GigaCube mobile broadband plans which come with different wireless routers though.
Vodafone Gigacube 4G (Huawei B818-263) supports 4G LTE whereas Vodafone Gigacube 5G (Huawei 5G CPE Pro) supports 5G network.

Speeds
Gigacube equipment (wireless routers) are designed to handle speeds between 300Mbps and 2330Mbps. In a nutshell, they are ultrafast WiFi routers in design and specifications.
Theoretical speeds:
- Vodafone GigaCube 4G – Up to 300Mbps
- Vodafone GigaCube 5G – 1Gbps+, up to 2Gbps
GigaCube speeds (estimated speeds):
- Vodafone GigaCube 4G – Up to 40Mbps when connected to 4G network
- Vodfone GigaCube 5G – Up to 200Mbps when connected to 5G network
Note:
The actual GigaCube’s speeds that you get usually depend upon
- the network coverage (4G / 5G)
- the signal strength of 4G or 5G network (Vodafone)
Other factors that affect actual Vodafone GigaCube speeds:
- Indoor coverage – the quality of signal inside buildings
- Traffic management – Vodafone mobile networks may reduce the speeds of certain types of data traffic during peak times.
That said, GigaCube speeds depend upon Vodafone 4G / 5G network speeds and performance. Below are the details revealed by speed tests.
According to Opensignal report September 2021: (full report)
Vodafone 4G | Vodafone 5G | |
---|---|---|
Availability | 86.4% | 6.4% |
Download speed | 21.6Mbps | 73.3Mbps |
Upload speed | 7.4Mbps | 12.3Mbps |

Installation
- Insert micro SIM (4G cube) or nano SIM (5G cube)
- Connect the router to the network.
- Turn on the switch and wait till the signal light turn to green
- To connect devices by WiFi, use the user name and the password (see on the bottom of the GigaCube)
Vodafone 4G and 5G coverage
Vodafone GigaCube routers work well in areas where Vodafone mobile network has coverage.
- Vodafone 4G covers 99% of the UK population
- Vodafone 5G is available in more than 100 UK cities and towns
Is Vodafone GigaCube any good?
Vodafone GigaCube is recommended, when your location is not covered by high speed broadband (fibre or full fibre) or when you get sluggish broadband speeds in your home.
In such circumstances, 4G or 5G wireless routers like GigaCube devices become a great option for internet users.
Pros
- Portable
- Superfast and ultrafast speeds especially with 5G router
- Can connect up to 64 devices
- Easy setup
Cons
- Expensive data plans
- Limited data allowance
- Speeds may not be as reliable as fibre broadband
